Walls System Virtual Museum

The Virtual Museum is a narrative and interactive tool that allows you to discover the wall circuit and the gates of access to the city according to four main thematic areas: urban topography and architecture and walls; historical events and characters; edicts and trades; stories from the walls.
Developed by the Institute of Cultural Heritage Sciences of the National Research Council (CNR – ISPC ) in collaboration with archaeologists and art historians of the Capitoline Superintendence, it is aimed at citizens and students according to the model of “citizen science” for democratic participation and knowledge sharing through technological tools.

The Museum is an overview of the defensive system of the city and at the same time offers suggestions on the social fabric and on the life of the city in different historical periods.
The visitor has the opportunity to explore virtually the places of border, opening and exclusion to the city, in a time travel space that reaches to the present day.
